Shockers Year End Picnic

Shockers year end picnic will be held on Sunday, August 16 at the New Market Community Park. We will gather around 4:00 pm at shelter #2, and we are planning to eat around 5:00 pm. Smokey will be doing BBQ chicken for all to enjoy and the utensils and drinks will be provided as well. We do ask that everyone bring a covered dish.

We had a great season this year and we hope to see everyone there. We will also be awarding some player trophies for the first time this year. So please try to attend and bring your family.

We incur many expenses throughout the course of the season, and without your continued financial support we would not be able to survive as an organization. It requires approximately $6000.00 per year to cover the operating expenses of the ball team that includes uniforms, bats, balls, umpire's fees and lights at the field. Each year we continue with fundraising activities to help pay for all of these expenses. Without your help we would not be able to be a successful ball team. We would like to take a moment to thank the New Market Rebels and the Town of New Market for continuing to give us a place we can call home. We are truly grateful to be able to play our home games at Rebel Park, one of the best ball parks in the state!!!!!

A VERY BIG & SPECIAL THANK YOU...

Sometimes we seem to forget about all the people who faithfully help out all year long....It's nice to come through the gate and always see smiling faces. They never complain or say no they can't come...They are always there...These people don't have to be here, but they are..They don't have family playing, or come because they don't have anything else to do..They do it for the love of baseball..They help out with what ever duties need to be done. Collecting money at the gate, 50/50, concession stand, cleaning the park after the games, taking care of the field before and after games. Always offering help whether it's needed or not. Take time to say "Thank you" to these people. Without them, our team would not hit, steal bases, hit home-runs, or play the field. They do what ever it takes to help make the Shockers sucessful. They are not ball players, they are baseball lovers...THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.....The Shockers continue on because of faithful workers. There are many workers who have stepped in to lend a hand and are not mentioned below. We want to thank each of you for your continued support. But there are some very special people I would like to mention because they are always there for the team.

WE WON!!!!!

WOW!!!! What a great game!!!!!!! Shockers and Blue Sox are tied 4-4 at the bottom of the 9th. We played tuff and finally at the bottom of the 15th Zach Cook was walked. Cook moved to second on a sacrifice bunt. Nathan Batman singled to left field, bringing home Cook to score the winning run.....

Rt. 11 yard crawl August 8, 2009 from 7:00am-until. We have spaces available at Rebel Park for $10.00 each. All proceeds go to the Shockers.

SEPTEMBER:
Longaberger Basket Bingo- Hey we need 23 baskets donated to the team. Each player needs to get a basket donated. The cost to sponsor a basket is $65.00 and you can get one business/individual to sponsor a basket or split the cost up among multiple sponsors. We need the basket money by July 24th.
